A GEORGE III MAHOGANY LINEN PRESS
BY GILLOWS, LATE 18TH CENTURY
The upper section enclosing three mahogany and cedar trays, the base with two short and two long cedar-lined drawers, one top drawer stamped GILLOWS LANCASTER, the back fully panelled, with 19th century inscription to the back "With care/ Rev. W. Giffard/ Wotton Vicarage/ Brocklesbury Station/ Near Doncaster", the inside left door with 19th century inscription stating the press was acquired from Gillows in Lancaster in 1823
78 ¾ in. (200 cm.) high; 52 in. (132 cm.) wide; 23 ¾ in. (60.5 cm.) deep
