With tambour shutter top enclosing a leather-lined writing-surface with hinged ratcheted central panel and a later fitted interior of five variously-sized mahogany-lined drawers and pigeon-holes, above two frieze drawers inlaid with eagle-headed pelta issuing foliage, each end inlaid with an ellipse depicting Diana on the left end and Ceres on the right end, surrounded by foliate scrolls, the reverse with conforming frieze centred by an ellipse of Venus, on square tapering legs inlaid with husks, on brass caps and leather castors, one drawer with printed paper label 'FROM C. RHODES 390 OXFORD ST. LONDON'
