The design combines two models in Gillows' Estimate Sketch Books. A rosewood "flower stand" with almost identical base is illustrated in folio 3037, dated 29 February 1820, and a rosewood flower stand with this "double round corner'd top" is shown in folio 3170, dated 16 July 1822.
