Berlin, circa 1750, possibly workshop of Christian Friedrich Herold or Jordan & Lautier
Cartouche-shaped white enamel on copper box with bombé sides, the slightly domed cover painted with a hunting scene in a landscape framed by gilt latticework, the sides with similar reserves, the base with a scene of strollers in a landscape painted in purple camaïeu, reeded silver-gilt mounts with wavy thumbpiece, the inside of the lid inset with a watercolour on parchment miniature of a scène galante of a shepherdess with a gentleman, under glass, the inside of the base silver-gilt lined
