A GILT-BRONZE GEM-INSET MIRROR FRAME INCORPORATING A CLOCK
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The oval mirror-frame is finely decorated with a band of floral scrolls, embellished with inset stones including jadeite and lapis lazuli. The mirror is surmounted by a similarly decorated clock, with a white enamel dial with black Roman and Arabic numerals outside the minute track, flanked by a pair of mythical fish. The reverse of both the mirror and the clock are beautifully chased with meandering lotus scrolls.
