A gilt copper model of Buddha
18th century
seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus petal base, one hand resting on his knee, the other holding a censer, wearing flowing robes draped over the left shoulder -- 13½in. (34.2cms) high; with pierced and carved hardwood stand modelled as a chair, five sliding drawers to the front, the pierced side and back panels carved with birds amongst flowering branches, with dragon head and flaming pearl terminals -- 29¼in. (74.2cms) high, (some wear).
