A GOLD-PLATED JADEITE-INSET RUYI
LATE 19TH/20TH CENTURY
The gold-plated shaft with fifteen rows of Chinese Shou characters on one side and twenty-four rows on the reverse, totalling one hundred and fourty-two characters. The large ruyi-head is set with an emerald-green and black-flecked jadeite openwork plaque, finely carved and pierced with bats, foliage and central Shou character.
