A good late 19th/early 20th-Century grey-enamelled transit theodolite,
by Stanley, G.tTurnstile Holborn London, the 9½-inch long telescope with bubble level, trough compass, lens cap, rack and pinion focusing and cross-hair adjustment screws, mounted next to a 6-inch diameter vertical circle with silvered scale and differential scale on the reverse, twin verniers and magnifiers, fine-screw adjustment and clamp, raised on two A-frame supports, one stamped W.A.S., over the 6½-inch diameter horizontal circle with twin bubble levels, silvered scale to the chamfered circumference, twin verniers, magnifier, fine-screw adjustment and clamp, raised on a four-screw tripod mounting, with fine-screw adjustment and clamp, with lamp and holder, plum bob, and top bubble level in a fitted mahogany case with brass carrying handle -- 50.1cm. (10¾in.) high
