With wings tight against body and bulging eyes, 2½ in. (6.5 cm.) long; a Greek bronze relief matrix for sheet gold repoussé in the form of a cicada, on integral oval base, 5th Century B.C., 1½ in. (4 cm.) long; a Roman bronze figure of a locust with long legs bent up and held against the tapering body, 2nd Century A.D., 1¾ in. (4.5 cm.) long; a lead sling weight with figure of a scorpion, late 1st millennium B.C., 1¾ in. (4.5 cm.) long; and a Bactrian stone fly, with wings outstretched and finished with deep striations, bulbous eyes, the underside with bent legs, repaired, circa 2500 B.C., 1½ in. (4 cm.) long (5)
