Of Jun-type, well potted with a waisted neck and lipped rim flanked by two simple strap handles, covered with a thick glaze of even olive-green color, the foot burnt brownish-orange in the firing

Compare a Junyao jar of similar form, but covered with a greenish-blue glaze, illustrated by J. Ayers, Chinese Ceramics in the Baur Collection, Geneva, vol. I, 1999, p. 55, no. 12; and another blue-glazed jar of this form, but with purple splashes, was included in the International Exhibition of Chinese Art, Royal Academy of Arts, London, 1935-6, no. 1083.
