此類玉觿演變自形狀更為簡單的象牙或爪形吊墜。至戰國時期，玉觿更具裝飾性，並常被掛於腰間上以用於拆解繩結。明尼阿波利斯美術館藏一件類似玉虎形觿，見《Chinese Jades: Archaic and Modern》，佛蒙特州/日本，1977 年，圖版 XI （a），圖版134號，頁117-118。該玉觿具相似紋飾，並與另外兩件玉觿（圖版135號及136號）共同陳列（圖一）。三者都可與在金村出土的東周晚期例子進行比較。
