Lot Essay

A similar example is published in Antique Oriental Carpets from Austrian Collections, exhibition catalogue, Vienna, 1986, No. 59. Ours has three, not four, angular palmettes separated by floral sprays along the bottom of the field. Both examples have occasional border S-motifs executed in red, not black.
