The two-fold screen with recessed upper panels designed with roosters, hens and chicks under chrysanthemums or peonies lacquered in gold, silver, red and brown takamaki-e and hiramaki-e with accents of kirigane and hirame, the ground kinji and black lacquer, the lower panels with chrysanthemum scrolls in gold and silver takamaki-e on a hirame ground; the reverse with pine trees in black and gold togidashi, the panel borders and frame mokume and the edges fundame
