Rectangular, with bracket feet, pierced on either side with diamond-shaped florets, decorated on the two surfaces with square poem cards with Genji imagery, each decorated in gold and silver takamaki-e, hiramaki-e, red lacquer or black lacquer with kirigane, hirame and togidashi details reserved on bands of mist in muranashiji and togidashi, repeated on the exterior sides; undersides and interiors of legs nashiji; silver mounts
