Decorated on the cover in silver and gold takamaki-e with a tethered ox against a red lacquer ground continued on the exterior walls, the base nashiji, the interior lid lacquered in gold, silver and black togidashi with chestnuts on a silver ground continued on the interior of the box; fitted with a rectangular inkstone and gourd-form waterdropper of metal chased with a gourd vine
