A LARGE BRONZE TRIPOD CIRCULAR CENSER AND STAND
MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
The censer is of compressed globular form, applied with two stylised Buddhist lion handles. There is a qin shu lu seal mark to the base which may be translated as "Partner to music and literature". The stand is cast in the form of three overlapping flower petals, supported on three scroll-form feet. Both censer and stand have an attractive finely speckled patina.
17 ¾ in. (45.5 cm.) wide across the handles
