A LARGE FAMILLE ROSE VASE
19TH CENTURY
The baluster vase is decorated on each side of the body with a large panel of figures walking up a narrow path to a riverside pagoda in a dramatic mountainous landscape, divided by variously shaped smaller panels of double cockerels, jardinières and a pair of pheasants perched on a peach branch. The neck is painted with similar panels of pagodas and all is reserved on a dense ground of lotus and flower scroll.
