A late 14th/early 15th century gold ring
Designed as an open bezel (formerly mounted with a stone) with four open claws, the D section hoop engraved with black letter inscription better may be with star motif divisions, the shoulders decorated with foliate sprigs, together with an oval polished amethyst possibly associated with the ring mount

Discovered by metal detector in the area of Hambleton, North Yorkshire; according to the finder it was found close to the ring in the previous lot. The polished amethyst was found in close proximity to the ring
