Sale room notice
Please note additional provenance for this lot:
Anonymous sale; Sotheby's, Monte Carlo, 9 December 1995, lot 223.
At the time of the 1995 sale the canapé was described as being stamped by Pluvinet (either Louis Magedeleine Pluvinet, maître in 1756, or Philippe Pluvinet, maître in 1754). However the stamp is no longer visible as a result of the upholstery webbing. The canapé is therefore definitely French and not North Italian.
