The two added signature cartouches on the blade read bande ye- shah-e velayat 'abbas (The servant of the King of Trusteeship, 'Abbas), and 'amal-e asadullah (The work of Asadullah). These cartouches attribute this later blade to the most famous of all Safavid swordsmiths. The blade is, however of particularly fine watered steel.
