The London based firm, Based Upon, established in 2004 by twin brothers Ian and Richard Abell, specializes in large-scale artworks and sculptural furniture with unique finishes formed by mixing liquid metals and resins. This piece was carved in timber and then fused with liquid metals using a unique palette of bronzes developed by the studio. This piece demonstrates the intricate colour variation and textural marking that define the studios larger works.
