The glazed Roman and Arabic white enamelled dial signed 'PIERRE LE ROY DE LA SOCIETE DES ARTS', the twin-barrel movement signed 'Pierre le Roy a Paris', gadrooned rockwork and headed by a classical draped seated maiden flanked by flowerheads and foliage, above two winged putti issuing from clouds, stamped with the C couronné poinçon

Lot Essay

The C Couronné poinçon was a tax mark employed on any alloy containg copper between March 1745 and February 1749.

Probably Pierre Le Roy, maître horloger in 1737.
