Lot Essay

Georges Jacob, maître in 1765.
A closely related bergère, stamped Jacob, was supplied to the duc de Penthièvre for Chateauvillain, and subsequently sold Christie's, London, 7 December 1995, lot 105 (£7,475 including premium).
