Robert Osmond, maître-fondeur en terre et sable in 1746 and appointed juré des fondeurs in 1756.
Osmond produced this 'pedestal' clock in two versions: one with a vase to the top (see P. Kjellberg, Encyclopédie De La Pendule Française du Moyen Age au XXe Siècle, Paris, 1997, pp. 185 and an example sold Christie's Amsterdam, the property of a Dutch Nobleman, 19 September 2007, lot 324, 7450 Euros); and the other with two doves (see Tardy, French Clocks the World Over, Part Two, Paris, 1981, p. 52).
