A MATCHED PAIR OF GEORGE III MAHOGANY LIBRARY OPEN ARMCHAIRS
Each with rectangular padded back, arm-rests and seat covered in differing green materials, on square legs joined by H-shaped stretchers and with later brass caps and castors, variations in construction and size, one without back castors, one lacking top or arm support, one inscribed in pencil on the back rail 'No 1' and indistinctly 'Lady Bolton' and over that inscription '7 Green West of...' (2)

Supplied to the 5th Duke of Bolton (d.1765) for Hackwood.
By descent until sold in 1935 with Hackwood to William Berry, 1st Viscount Camrose (d.1954).
Thence by descent.
