The domed cover with a pink rosebud finial and painted with a loose bouquet, the side panels and base painted with similar bouquets, reserved on an ozier-moulded ground within scroll-moulded borders, the interior of the hinged cover painted with figures after Watteau of musical gallants and companions and Commedia dell'Arte figures in a parkland landscape, a village in the distance, the rectangular tamper applied with a pink rose bud and painted with a bouquet to the centre, on a similar ozier and scroll-moulded ground (cover finial detached with small losses and an associated area of restoration, minor rim chipping to box beneath gilt-metal mount, small rim chip to corner of liner)
6½ in. (16.5 cm.) x 4½ in. (11.4 cm.) overall
