THE MEISSEN CIRCA 1740-45, THE CLOCK, ORMOLU AND TOLE FIRST HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY, THE CONTINENTAL PORCELAIN FLOWERS 18TH CENTURY AND LATER, THE CLOCK MOVEMENT STAMPED CE(?)F AND WITH NUMERALS
Modelled by J.J. Kändler as a shepherd embracing a shepherdess, both seated on rockwork with a hound at his feet and a sheep resting on her lap, on a shaped oval rocky base applied with flowers and foliage (shepherd restored through neck, right elbow, right hand and right ankle, restoration to tip of her left foot, further smaller damages and repairs throughout), on an pierced ormolu shell-moulded rocaille base issuing a gilt metal tree-trunk and branches applied with colourful Continental porcelain flowers and tôle leaves, centred by a clock with a white enamel dial inscribed Leroy Hger Du Roy with pierced gilt-metal hands within a cylindrical gilt-metal case (some restoration to tôle leaves and associated refreshing to green enamel, some flowers detached, some later replacements, chipping to petals)
The Meissen group 6 1/8 in. (15.5 cm.) high, the clock 16 1/8 in. (41 cm.) high overall
