A MEISSEN (KPM) CHINOISERIE SUGAR-BOX AND COVER
CIRCA 1725, BLUE K.P.M. MARK
Of elongated octagonal and squat bombé form, possibly painted by Lauche, each side painted with Orientals in river landscapes within elongated quatrefoil gilt and iron-red cartouches, the ends with prunus branches extending down from the gilt band border, the domed stepped cover with two similar vignettes below a knop finial, within a band of iron-red diaper ornament divided by panels of flowers, within a broad gilt band border (areas of slight wear, footrim with minute chip and two minute frits)
