A MOTTLED PALE CELADON AND BROWN JADE MOUNTAIN
18TH CENTURY
Of irregular, upright section, the front is carved in high and deep relief with an elephant flanked by a farmer leaning on his hoe and a bird descending from the rocks above towards a tree growing from a ledge below. Clouds frame the sun at the top and the moon on the reverse above trees growing from the craggy rocks of the mountainside. There are areas of brown mottling in the pale celadon stone.
7¼ in. (18.5 cm.) high, wood stand
