The sinuous form and richly carved ornamentation of this table relate closely to a smaller example, now at the Monte di Pietà, Naples (A. P. Murano, Il mobile Napoletano del settecento, Naples, 1977, pl. XXIII). The present table shares many similar features as the example in the Monte di Pietà, including a central shell cartouche, exaggerated form of rocaille cabochons at the head of its cabriole legs and the scrolling flower tendrils that wreath the apron.

A related table was sold from the collection of Baronessa Jacobea Sapuppo, Christie's Milan, 10-11 May 1999, lot 314. A further silvered example, with pierced frieze, was sold Sotheby's London, 10 June 1999, lot 92.
