A pair of Chinese armorial plates, Yongzheng, c.1732
the central arms bearing the motto 'Think On', within chain pattern and floral borders -- 9in. (22.8cm) diam.

The arms are of Ross. The family is descended from Sir John Ross of Halkhead, whose descendant William, 12th Lord Ross, supprted the Revolution, which brought William III to the throne.
