Lot Essay

A vase of similar form, but with slightly variant decoration, was illustrated as being part of the Ipsen offering in 1876 Centennial Exhibition. See W. Smith, The Masterpieces of the Centennial International Exhibition, Philadelphia, 1876, vol. II, p. 25.
