A PAIR OF DANISH SILVER FOUR-LIGHT CANDLEABRA
MARK OF POUL RESEN EGGERSEN, COPENHAGEN, 1837
Each tapering cylindrical on spreading circular foot with beaded borders, the stem with an applied band of anthemion and foliage motifs, the vine-leaf capped scroll branches supporting everted vine-leaf drip-pans, vase-shaped sockets with vine-leaf nozzles, the rim of base engraved with Greek cypher below Greek Royal crown, bases filled, marked on one base, on branches, on sockets and on nozzles, the bases also numbered 'No. 7' and '8', the branches engraved 'No. 3' and '7' and with a scratchweight
24 in. (61 cm.) high
The cypher is that of King George I of the Hellenes, Prince of Denmark (1845-1913). (2)
