With their restrained mahogany frames conceived to best display richly figured and veneered marble tops, these tables recall the pair in the Yellow Drawing Room at Houghton Hall, Norfolk. Almost certainly introduced to Houghton by Sir Philip Sassoon or his sister Sybil, Marchioness of Cholmnondeley, the Houghton tables are illustrated in 'Cornforth Remembered', The World of Interiors, March 2006, pp.158-9.
