A PAIR OF EARLY 20TH CENTURY NATURAL PEARL AND DIAMOND EAR PENDANTS
Each natural pearl drop, measuring approximately 14.6mm and 14.5mm respectively, to a diamond-set fleur-de-lys surmount and millegrain-set diamond twin line suspension, with further foliate accent and single-stone diamond top, circa 1905, original fitted case embossed with initials P.A for Philip Alexius de Lazlo (1869-1937), with further original diamond line sections previously removed to shorten earrings length
Accompanied by report no.09605 dated 21 March 2014 from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory, London, stating the pearls are natural, saltwater
Provenance
Originally offered in Christie's London 6 December 2006 Important Jewellery sale, lot 283.

These earrings were given to the society portrait artist Philip de Lazlo by way of payment for his portrait of a lady, whose identity remains unknown. They were offered in the aforementioned sale by a descendant of the artist, at which time they were purchased by the current vendor.
