A pair of French biscuit figures of a gentleman and companion
Circa 1860, painted D & T marks and incised numbers
The first modelled wearing a tricorn hat, blue jacket and ruffled shirt, flowered waistcoat, purple striped breeches and black shoes, with a dead bird underfoot, holding another bird in his left hand, before a tree covered in a peach-coloured drape, standing on a grassy mound base and purple plinth, the lady similar, wearing a flowered dress and head-dress, carrying a bird's nest containing chicks and a bird cage on a similar base (restoration to her hat and arm and her body re-stuck and the waist, minor chipping in general)
