These wall-lights are clearly inspired by the celebrated model delivered by Claude Galle for Fontainebleau in 1806. Placed in the grand salon de réception de la secrétairerie d'état de France and measuring 59cm. high, the latter were descibed as 2 paires de bras à 288 fr à 4 lumières, 576 fr (J.P. Samoyault, Pendules et Bronzes d'Ameublement entrés sous le Premier Empire, Paris, 1989, p.141, no.114). Interestingly, in the 1815 Inventory taken of Galle's ateliers is listed une paire de bras à flèches tête de Diane à quatre branches.
