Founded by Simeone Codognato in 1866 and located in the famous Venetian Piazza San Marco, the House of Codognato is famed for its baroque and neo-gothic designs encapsulating the traditionalism and eclecticism of Venetian culture and decorative arts.

Drawing inspiration from vanitas and memento mori, many of Codognato’s designs allude to the transience of life and the notion of carpe diem that was so popular in medieval Europe.
