The domed bases each cast with robust foliage scrolls and flowers, with a similarly cast baluster stem, the detachable branches each with three reeded and foliage scroll arms terminating in a socket with detachable rocaille nozzle, with a further central socket, each socket engraved with two crests with a baron's coronet between, marked on base, on branches and each nozzle

The crests are those of Wynn and Glynn for Thomas John, 2nd Baron Newborough. Born in 1802 Thomas succeeded to the title on his father's death in 1807 and was later M.P. for Carnarvonshire 1826-30, dying unmarried in 1832.
He was the eldest surviving son of Sir Thomas Wynn, 1st Baron Newborough and Maria Stella Petronilla, daughter of Lorenzo Chiappini. In a pamphlet published in 1829, she claimed to be the legitimate eldest daughter of the Duke of Orleans, Philippe Égalité, stating that she was surreptitiously replaced by the King of France, Louis Philippe, in Florence, in 1773, whom her parents, anxious for a male heir, purchased from an innkeeper in that city, creating some sensation at the time in Paris.
