Tibet, 15th Century
Both very finely carved and gilt with flame borders; one deeply carved with three Tathagatas seated within elaborate aureoles surrounded by guardian figures and Bodhisattvas; the other with and an amrita vase at center issuing lotus scrolls encircling figures of Jambhala and the four guardian kings; three sides gilt with one side carved with scrollwork centered by a kirttimukha mask and bearing the Tibetan letter ka, the reverse of both painted red
