William Wise is listed in an 1873 Brooklyn business directory as a jeweler who dealt in watches, silver, and spectacles and was located at 79 Fulton Street. Marcus Wise is listed as an optician in Louise Conway Belden, Marks of American Silversmiths in the Ineson-Bissel Collection, 1980, p. 452.
