Each with later rectangular bevelled plate within a foliate moulded frame surmounted by a shaped cartouche plate and a shell, flanked by pierced scrolling foliage carved with flowerheads, the apron centred by a shell, regilt, the peripheral carving with later supports and some replacements

A mirror of similar form and with engraved upper plate is illustrated in G. Morazzoni, Il Mobile Veneziano del settecento, vol. II, rev. ed. 1996, pl. 295. A related pair of Venetian giltwood mirrors was sold, Sotheby's, London, 15 December 1999, lot 130.
