Each of circular outline, gouache on paper, depicting a painted scene of the Château de Bercy beside the Seine, seen from up or down stream with numerous figures and soldiers in the foreground, within a silver-gilt frame, circa 1880, 3 1/8 ins. diameter each, in an original red leather case tooled with Arms of Bourbon, Dukes of Orleans impaling Bourbon Dukes of Penthièvre

Both Louis Nicholas van Blarenberghe (1717-1794) and his son, Henri Joseph (1741-1826) signed their work without initials. Both were working at this time. It is believed, however, that these miniatures are most likely the son's work.
