A PAIR OF PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADEITE VASES AND COVERS
Each has a tapering body raised on a spreading pedestal foot, and is carved below the shoulder with an archaistic band of taotie masks and angular dragon scroll set above a dragon mask and loop handle suspending a loose ring on one side, and interrupted by a pair of similar handles at the shoulder. The cover is surmounted by a buddhistic lion and its cub. The semi-translucent stone is of mottled greenish-white color.
