CIRCA 1820-30, ONE WITH INCISED LETTERS AND NUMERALS TO UNDERSIDE OF FOOT
Each of slender oviform with twin gilt grotesque bird's head handles with anthemion terminals and matt stiff-leaf ornament, each painted on one side with a rectangular gilt-framed panel enclosing an interior scene of an apothercay or alchemist at work, surrounded by apothecary jars, vessels and books, the reverse with a panel of figures walking beside a river with buildings and mountains in the distance, the flared neck with a tooled gilt border of anthemia, flowerheads and circular medallions issuing from scrollwork, the lower body with a laurel wreath border

A pair of Paris vases of campana shape, one painted with an almost identical interior scene of a figure in a blue fur-lined coat with assistant, and the other with similar subject matter were offered at Christie's, New York on 14-15 April 2011, lot 424 where they were attributed to Schoelcher.
