Dagoty and Honoré formed an association between 1816 and 1820, after which Honoré continued on his own. The present vases combine design elements from both firms -- the vase form from and pharaoh masks from Dagoty and the Greek figural painting from Honoré. For a ewer with similar Greek figures attributed to Honoré, see M. Bloit, Trois Siecles de Porcelain de Paris, Paris, 1988, p. 73. For a pair of vases of very similar form attributed to Dagoty (c. 1815-20), see R. de Pinval de Guillebon, Dagoty à Paris, Paris, 2006, cat nos. 22 and 57. A Dagoty Egyptian revival surtout de table with gilt and biscuit pharaoh figures was sold Christie's, New York, 18 May 2006, lot 573 ($60,000).
