A PAIR OF PORCELAIN JARDINIÈRES WITH STANDS
BY THE IMPERIAL PORCELAIN FACTORY, ST PETERSBURG, CIRCA 1830
Each slightly waisted cylindrical, the body painted with turquoise diaper pattern and gilt dot ornament, with gilt everted rims, interior of the rims painted with gilt berried leaf band, the base gilt and moulded with beads and acanthus, flanked by two female mask-capped scroll handles, each with a detachable base gilt and moulded with reeded and waterleaf and tongue borders, with two white bands, both with incised 'CM' and 'LM' on the rim of the base; both stands with incised numerals '4' and '4.' under base; one stand also indistinctly inscribed under base; otherwise unmarked
7 3/8 in. (18.7 cm.) high, with stands (4)

Acquired in Russia in the 1930s, by the Italian ambassador to Russia.
