Lot Essay

This shade of blue was first produced on a dinner service made as a diplomatic gift from Louis XV to the Austrian ambassador to France, Prince Starhemberg.

Edmé-François Bouillat père is recorded as a painter of flowers and birds at Sèvres from 1758-1810.
