MARK OF BALL, BLACK AND CO., NEW YORK, 1851-1876
Each dish oval, set on frame with four hoof-form feet with ram's-head joins draped with garlands, the dish with beaded and Greek key border, the partly domed cover with beaded upper border with palmette drops, and engraved foliate border at shoulder, centering a vacant cartouche on one side, a coat-of-arms and motto on the other side, with greyhound and labrador finial, each marked under base of dish
