These chandeliers relate to one in St. Andrew's Church, Sonning, Berkshire - the earliest known English-made chandelier surviving (R. Gentle & R. Feild, English Domestic Brass, London, 1975, p. 140, fig. 115). The latter is dated 1675 and is surmounted by a large cherub's head, a feature of many chandeliers until the early 18th Century. The hand clasping a ring is probably a 19th Century feature.
